Soma West skate plaza was built by Newline Skateparks and opened in 2015. The plaza is loaded with obstacles such as ledges, hubbas, rails, banks, stairs, and also some transition. Some of these obstacles were inspired by local street skating spots such as Justin Herman Plaza, Channel Street, and Three Up Three Down!
There is plenty of room to skate here and the plaza has really good flow. The location of the plaza is awesome as it’s nestled underneath an overpass offering shade and protection from the weather. This is in my opinion the best skatepark in San Francisco. The only bad thing is there is no restroom at the location.
