San Francisco is likely one of the most popular skateboarding cities in the world. The words “skateboarding” and “San Francisco” just seem to go together! On any given day you will see groups of skateboarders hitting spots around the city or bombing the Twin Peaks hill. San Francisco is the real deal and there are some rad skateparks here that you need to skate if you are in town!

Best Skateparks In San Francisco

Soma West Skate Plaza

Soma West skate plaza was built by Newline Skateparks and opened in 2015. The plaza is loaded with obstacles such as ledges, hubbas, rails, banks, stairs and also some transition. Some of these obstacles were inspired by local street skating spots such as the Justin Herman Plaza, Channel Street, and Three Up Three Down! There is plenty of room to skate here and the plaza has really good flow.

The location of this skatepark is awesome as it’s nestled underneath an overpass offering shade and protection from the weather. This is in my opinion the best skatepark in San Francisco. The only bad thing is there is no restroom at the location.

Located south of San Francisco in the suburb of Brisbane is where you will find this fun little skatepark. It was built by Spohn Ranch and has been designed extremely well to fit into such a small space without sacrificing all the main features a skatepark needs. There are quarter pipes, mini half pipe, hips, banks, ledges, A-frame with a rail and ledge, down rail, and a bank with inset ledge. This is a great spot for both beginner and experienced skaters.
