Skateparks in Brooklyn are plentiful and you’ll find some great ones not only in the heart of Williamsburg but as far away as Canarsie, Corona, and Astoria.

Just like NYC, Brooklyn has pretty good public transport infrastructure so you can get around the city and to all the best skateparks quite easily whether it be by bus or subway.

Even though the street skating scene is big in Brooklyn, sometimes you need a break from the streets and want to practice new tricks at the local skatepark. Fortunately if you are from Brookyln (or just visiting) as mentioned above there are many to choose from here but we have narrowed it down to the top parks. Have a look at them below.

Best Brooklyn Skateparks To Visit

Cooper Skatepark

Cooper Skatepark in my opinion is the best street park in Brooklyn. Spohn Ranch designed and built the 10,000 square foot skatepark in 2015. It has quarter pipes at each end that add great flow and they are also the perfect size for practicing and learning new transition tricks.

The rest of the skatepark is made up of a variety of ledges, benches, manual pads, A-frame, rainbow rail over a euro gap, flat bars and stairs. It’s a really good skatepark and I highly recommend hitting it up!

Planetree (88th St) Skatepark

London Planetree or “88th St” is a nice 10,000 square foot skatepark designed by Site Design Group and built by California Skateparks. It has all the usual street obstacles including several different ledges, hubbas, manual pads, flat bars, A-frame with a gap, and a really cool brick bank as well as regular banks. There is absolutely no transition here and it is all street obstacles just so you know.

Astoria Skatepark

Astoria Skatepark is quite big coming in at 21,500 square feet which provides ample space for skaters to practice their lines. There are varies street obstacles such as ledges, rails, flat bar, hubbas, banks, and manual pads. It is a great skatepark for all levels of skateboarders and is located underneath the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge.

Martinez (Blue) Skatepark

Martinez Skatepark also known as “Blue” skatepark is a basketball court that has ledges of all shapes and sizes along with manual pads and other obstacles like quarter pipes and bank ramps that appear and disappear from time to time. This is a legit and legal skate spot and is a fun place to hang out and skate with your friends.

Canarsie Skatepark

Carnasie Skatepark is a unique skate plaza that has an obstacle trail with quarter pipes, wafer banks, and ledges that go around the perimeter. The main area consists of stairs, hubbas, handrails, ledges, banks, and a volcano. There are some nice low rails that are perfect to practice on especially for beginners attempting to learn rail tricks.

McCarren Skatepark

McCarren Skatepark was redesigned a few years back by California Skateparks. It now features quarter pipes, a bank with a curved curb, flat banks, ledges, stairs, handrails, flat bars, pole jam, and a euro gap. This is a massive upgrade from the previous skatepark that had little to no flow or obstacles.

Transit Tech Skatepark

Transit Tech Skatepark is just shy of 4,000 square feet but its loaded with street obstacles. The best thing about this skatepark is the small size of the obstacles which is awesome for beginners and perfect for learning new tricks. There are various sized ledges, rails, stairs, a quarter pipe, curb and bank ramps.

Maloof Skatepark

Maloof Skatepark also know as “Flushing Meadows” is 16,000 square foot and has several replica spots from around New York incorporated into it. There are a variety of stair sets, hubbas, handrails, ledges, manual pads, flat bars, and a cool A-frame. It was built for the 2010 Maloof Money Cup and is an awesome skatepark for street skaters.
