Mexico City is a mecca in the Mexican skateboarding scene not only due to the large amount of talented skateboarders that call this city home, but also because there are several fantastic skateparks that have been built here.
There hasn’t always been such a great selection of skateparks here, however since the growth of the sport’s popularity, the city government has become open to building new and modern skatepark facilities.
Skateboarding is so popular in Mexico City that Nike SB constructed the first ever Street league Certified Skatepark outside of the United States here.
What is a Street League Certified skatepark? It’s a skatepark that consists of the same obstacles that are built to the exact specifications of a Street League skateboarding competition skatepark. This means skateboarders can test their skills on the same obstacles that professional skateboarders compete on.
There is no doubt Mexico City has a thriving skate scene with many facilities for skateboarders to practice and progress their skills.
