Tucson offers its local skateboarders a variety of skateparks to do their thing. Whether it’s shredding a certain type of bowl or getting technical on a street course with perfect ledges, skaters will find what they are looking for here in Tucson.

Arizona is hot in the summer and Tucson is no exception but if you live here you already are well aware of this. If you are from out of town and do plan on skating these awesome skateparks in Tucson between the months of May and October we recommend early morning, late afternoon, and evening sessions to avoid the heat. Thankfully some of these facilities have lights for night sessions making it much more bearable.

One awesome thing about Tucson weather is it only receives an average of just over ten- inches of precipitation annually so you can get a lot of skateboarding under your belt throughout the year.

Best Skateparks In Tucson, Arizona

Purple Heart Skatepark (Rita Ranch)

Purple Heart Skatepark (also known as Rita Ranch) is 10,000 square feet and has a mix of both street and transition terrain. There are open style flow bowls, bank ramps, hips, flat ledges, down ledges, rails, and stairs. This is an older skatepark but it’s still a lot of fun and a great place for all types of skateboarders to enjoy. If you’re in the southeast of Tucson be sure to hit it up for a session!

Albert M. Gallego Skatepark (Santa Rita Park)

Albert M. Gallego Skatepark is located in Santa Rita Park and features a variety of transition that bowl skaters will love to shred. The 16,000 square foot facility has a flow bowl with a hip and radial pocket, kidney bowl, and clam bowl. There are two flat ledges and manual pads but they are the only street obstacles at this skatepark. The shade cover and lights are a nice touch.

Pascua Pueblo Skatepark

Pascua Pueblo Skatepark was built back in 2015 and is one of the coolest 5,200 square foot street inspired facilities in the state. Shaped like a “V”, it features three quarter pipes at the top end followed by symmetrical down ledges, rails, stairs, and bump-to-ledge.

The next section has two identical bump-to-ledges, bump-to-flat bar, flat bar, and flat ledge, and to finish things off there is a mellow bank ramp. If you like skating street obstacles this skatepark should be right up your alley. A shade cover has also been installed to help provide some relief from the sun for skatepark users.

Picture Rocks Skatepark

Picture Rocks Skatepark is 7,500 square feet and was designed by SITE Design Group and constructed by California Skateparks. It features a variety of obstacles including flat ledges, bump-to-A-frame rail, manual pads, pump bumps, rails, quarter pipes, hips, and a spine. This is a nice little skatepark that most skaters will enjoy shredding.

Premises Park Indoor Skatepark

Premises Park Indoor Skatepark is a nonprofit indoor facility that was established in 2010 to grow the local skateboard, BMX, and freestyle scooter cultures through lessons, mentoring, and friendships.

The 26,000 square foot warehouse consists of a pro-vert section, foam pit, and a street inspired plaza. The street plaza has some very cool obstacles such as a hubba ledge, out ledge, flat ledge, stair set, flat bars, bump and hydrant, and quarter pipes.

There is also an onsite skate shop that stocks everything you might need such as skateboards, trucks, wheels, bearings, as well as BMX and scooter gear.

Admission to the skatepark:

• $10 – 2 hours
• $15 – 3 hours
• $20 – all day
