Ventura County has a lot to offer skateboarders and if you are local to this area you likely know about the awesome skateparks on offer here already. However, if you don’t travel north of Los Angeles County very often, you might not know these great skateparks exist so we have compiled a list of the best skateparks in Ventura County for the day you do decide to venture out this way.

The skateparks on this list cover not only the city of Ventura, but also Oxnard, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Moorepark, and a few other places.

These suburban neighborhoods in Ventura County have some hidden gems that include big pool-style bowls, perfect street plazas, and some great beginner terrain too. No matter what type of skatepark you are looking for, you will certainly find it in Ventura County.

Westlake Skatepark

Best Skateparks In The Conejo Valley

Westlake Skatepark is 6,500 square feet and is perched on the side of a hill overlooking Westlake Village. Although it’s a smaller skatepark, it is designed very well and has good flow.

It features a bowl with a shallow and deep end, and a street course comprised of an A-frame with a ledge, rail, and bank-to-bank gap, curved ledge, down ledge that can be skated as an up-ledge from the opposite direction, euro gap, handrails, stair set, pyramid banks, and a three-section quarter pipe.

The skatepark’s gate is locked in the evening and re-opened every morning except if it’s raining. It is best not to drive up the small road to the skatepark as it is reserved for emergency vehicles and disabled access. There is a parking lot at the bottom of the hill and a walking trail up to the skatepark from the lot.

WESTLAKE SKATEPARK
Hours: 10am – 10:30pm

Berlywood (Simi Valley) Skate Plaza

Berlywood Skate Plaza in Simi Valley opened in August 2020. The 5,200 square foot facility consists of a variety of fun street obstacles. The triangular shaped skatepark has quarter pipes at each of its three corners, four-stair with a rail, down rail that can be skated as a bump-to-rail from the other way, down ledge that be be skated as a bump-to-ledge as well, bump-to-manual pad, bump-to-ledge, and manual pads. Being a smaller skatepark it can get crowded quickly but if you can score a session to yourself you will have the time of your life.

BERLYWOOD SKATEPARK
Hours: 8am – 8pm

Poindexter Skatepark (Moorpark)

Poindexter Skatepark is 20,000 square feet and was built by California Skateparks in 2009. It has been a popular spot for Conejo Valley local riders ever since due to its amazing flow bowl with varied depths, extensions, vert wall, “M” sculpture, gnarly pool-style bowl, and mini bowl with a roll-in and extension.

There is not much in terms of street obstacles apart from a couple stair sets, ledges, and a handrail. If you are a transition skater this place will be your jam!

POINDEXTER SKATEPAR
Hours: 10am – 6pm

Borchard Skatepark (Newberry Park)

Borchard Skatepark located in Newberry Park opened way back in 2002 but still sees the local skateboarding community put it to use everyday. There is a variety of street obstacles such as flat ledges, down ledge, pyramid with a ledge, flat bar, bank ramps, and quarter pipes.

The future of this skatepark is looking bright because it has been confirmed that the city will be expanding it by another 10,000 square feet. The new expansion is said to include a transition section, beginner area, and gathering space. Hopefully they break ground on it soon.

BORCHARD SKATEPARK

Camarillo Skatepark (Pleasant Valley)

Camarillo Skatepark offers a mix of street and transition terrain. There is a rectangular-shaped bowl with a roll-in, two volcanoes, rainbow ledge over a pyramid, flat ledges, down ledges, rail, bank ramps, and quarter pipes. This skatepark was once a paid facility but is now free for all to enjoy. If you are a beginner, this is a great spot to learn as the obstacles are fairly mellow.

CAMARILLO SKATEPARK
Hours: 7am – 7pm
Address: 1500 Temple Ave Camarillo, CA

Ojai Skatepark

Ojai Skatepark is 12,500 square feet and was designed and built by SITE Design Group and California Skateparks. It consists of an amoeba bowl with tile and pool coping, half bowl with an extension, hubba ledge, flat ledges, out ledge, Pier 7 block, half pyramid, volcano, bank-to-ledge, hips, and handrails.

OJAI SKATEPARK
Hours: 6am – 10pm

Piru Skatepark

Piru Skatepark consists of a flow bowl with a roll-in, hubba ledge, stair sets, handrail, volcano, bank with slappy curb, out ledge, flat ledge, bank ramps, quarter pipe, and rock features. This is a cool little skatepark and if you are close by it’s worth checking out.

PIRU SKATEPARK
Hours: 7:30am – 8pm
Address: 510 Main St, Piru, CA

Oxnard Skatepark (Bedford Pinkard)

Oxnard Skatepark offers a mix of street and transition that includes three flow bowls, hips and bank ramps, hubba ledges, bump-to-ledges, pyramid, flat ledges, and flat bars. Even though this is an older skatepark, it is still very popular among local skateboarders.
