Texas is known for having stellar skateparks and the city of Austin is no exception. Local Austin skateboarders have a decent variety of skateparks to choose from that include street plazas, bowls, mini ramps, and even pump tracks.

The Austin area is one of the fastest growing cities in the state and we are now starting to see new skateparks pop-up in the outer suburbs as result of this growth. It is likely more great skateboarding facilities will come to life here in the near future. For now though, these are the eight best skateparks in Austin, Texas.

Mueller Skatepark

Mueller Skatepark and pump track was built by SPA Skateparks and opened in 2022. It features two pump tracks and an awesome street course. There are quarter pipes, bank ramps, hubba ledge, stair set, handrail, flat bar, bump-to-flat bar, ledges, and manual pads.

If you’re looking for a fun skatepark that is great for both experienced skateboarders and newbies to skateboarding, this is the skatepark to go to!

MUELLER SKATEPARK

Wells Branch (Mud) Skatepark

Wells Branch Skatepark which was built in 2018 is located within the Austin city limits. With immaculately landscaped grass, xeriscape inspired planting, and synthetic turf combined with perfectly poured concrete, it’s quite the picture perfect skatepark.

The upper plaza section has a flat bar, manual pad, flat ledges, six-stair with hubba, rail and euro gap, and an A-frame with an A-frame ledge. The mid section has an open-ended flow bowl with a mini ramp section and an extension. As for the lower section there is a bank along with some quarter pipes and a nice hip. This is a must visit skatepark if you are in the area.

House Park Plaza

House Park Plaza is located in downtown Austin and offers skateboarders a large variety of terrain. There is a massive multi-depth bowl, and an array of bank ramps and quarter pipes for transition skaters.

The street plaza is fully-loaded with obstacles and includes various stair sets, hubba ledges, handrails, flat bars, gaps, flat ledges, numerous manual pads, bank-to-bank, and several ledge combinations. This skate plaza is lit up until 10pm every night.

Brushy Creek Skatepark

Brushy Creek is a 15,000 square foot skatepark that was built in 2010. There are two bowls, one of which is a six to nine-foot replica ‘Skatepark of Austin’ bowl with pool coping. The other is a smaller bowl with both steel coping and pool coping. 

The street section has a lot of fun obstacles such as flat ledges, hubba ledges, flat bars, stairs, handrails, pyramid, volcano, various bank ramps and quarter pipes. This is a very well designed skatepark that is suited to all types of skateboarders whether beginner or experienced.

BRUSHY CREEK SKATEPARK

Northeast Metro (Pflugerville) Skatepark

Northeast Metro Skatepark is a whopping 42,500 square feet! A skatepark of this size is expected to have a vast variety of features and indeed it does. If you like skating transition, there are two bowls, vert walls, and more.

The street section has a variety of flat ledges, hubba ledges, manual pads, bank ramps, quarter pipes, stairs, handrails, flat bars, gaps, and plenty of flat ground.

Thankfully a skatepark of this size really spreads out the crowd which is nice. New Line and American Ramp Company who designed and built this skatepark did a great job with this place and it’s definitely worth hitting the next time you are north of Austin.

NORTHEAST METRO SKATEPARK

Leander (Lakewood) Skatepark

Lakewood Skatepark opened in late 2020 and offers a unique design that meanders through mature oak and juniper trees. The skatepark features a variety of obstacles including a quarter pipe section, four-stair, flat bar, down ledge, flat ledges, bank-to-ledge and manual pads, plus a volcano. This is a great technical street plaza suited to skateboarders of all levels.

Shaylah Dame Skatepark

Shaylah Dame Skatepark has a mix of both street and transition terrain. There is a large flow bowl with various depths, radial pocket with pool coping, over-vert capsule, and hips. The street section consists of hubba ledges, out ledges, flat ledges, rails, flat bars, stairs, manual pads, quarter pipes, and bank ramps.

SHAYLAH DAME SKATEPARK

Patterson Park Mini Ramp

Patterson Park Mini Ramp is a great spot to practice transition skateboarding. The ramp was built with money that locals raised which is very inspiring. It has an extension on each side and steel coping. If you like skating mini ramps, you will enjoy shredding this one.
