In the early days skateboarding in North Carolina was a bit different compared to other states as there were not as many urban metropolises to street skate or concrete skateparks to make use of. Back then, most North Carolinian skateboarders were very resourceful and made use of old concrete ditches, skated in parking lots, and occasionally stole a bench to create a DIY type skate spot.

However the times are changing and the construction of skateparks is becoming more prevalent in North Carolina. Some of the top skatepark builders are making their mark in this state and since skateboarding has become an Olympic sport, it is sure that more skatepark builds are on the cards.

While we keep an eye out for new skateparks to crop up, take a look at the best skateparks in North Carolina right now and let us know what you think in the comments.
