Over the last few years several new skateparks have popped up around the state of Massachusetts offering skateboarders modern and up to date obstacles to hone their craft. There’s no doubt these new concrete facilities have inspired the state’s residents to take up skateboarding whether as a hobby or professionally.
In fact, Massachusetts has already produced some legendary professional skateboarders such as PJ Ladd, Manny Santiago, and Nora Vasconcellos. There’s no doubt this state will produce more pro-skaters in the future since some of the nation’s top skateparks are located here, not to mention also some of the biggest skateparks in the USA.
So grab yourself some cranberry juice while you take a peek at some of these top notch skateparks in the Bay State.
Best Skateparks In Massachusetts
North Adams Skatepark
North Adams is an 11,000 square foot skatepark that was built in 2017 by Spohn Ranch. The skatepark’s layout is that of an “L” shape consisting of various street obstacles. The design ensures great flow while the starting banks and quarter pipes allow for the ideal speed to hit the perfectly spaced out features.
There are down ledges, out ledges, flat ledges, manual pads, handrails, flat bars, stairs, a pole jam, euro gap, bank ramps, and quarter pipes. This is a great skatepark for both beginner and advanced skateboarders.
NORTH ADAMS SKATEPARK

Lynch Family Skatepark
Lynch Family Skatepark is 40,000 square feet and was built by California Skateparks in 2015. The skatepark’s design captures the creativity and aspirations from over four hundred local skateboarders and professionals featuring replica obstacles from unique skate spots throughout the greater Boston area.
What you’ll find here are several bowls of different sizes and designs along with quarter pipes, walls, banks, flat ledges, out ledges, down ledges, handrails, flat bars, stair sets, slappy curbs, and more. This skatepark is lit up until 9pm every night.
LYNCH FAMILY SKATEPARK

Lincoln Park Skatepark
Lincoln Park Skatepark is 6,000 square feet and is one very neat little skate spot nestled in the residential neighborhood of Somerville. It consists of plaza style obstacles such as long flat ledges, down ledges, out ledges, manual pads, stair sets, banks, hips, walls, and quarter pipes. The skatepark opened in 2018 so it is a fairly new build offering smooth concrete for you to roll upon.
LINCOLN PARK SKATEPARK

Jackson Playground Skatepark
Jackson Playground Skatepark is a mere 4,000 square feet but don’t be fooled as it has all the essential features needed to have a killer skate session. At this little skatepark you’ll find a mix of street and transition obstacles that include a bowl with varying depths, quarter pipes, flat ledges and down ledges, a rail, and a bank ramp.
JACKSON PLAYGROUND SKATEPARK

Quincy Skatepark
Quincy Skatepark has been upgraded by Pillar and Artisan Skateparks as of mid-2020. The new facility is a far cry from the old pre-fabricated ramps that once made up this skatepark.
The new innovative design consists of both street and transition obstacles such as quarter pipes, volcanoes, humps, bank ramps, hips, down ledge, flat ledge, manual pad, and rails. This skatepark has become an important asset to the greater Boston area and totally worth checking out if you’re from out of town.
QUINCY SKATEPARK

Little Scobie Skate Spot
Little Scobie Skate Spot is indeed very little measuring in at only 2,000 square feet. However, if you are a skateboarder you know that you can cruise and have fun just about anywhere there is some form of concrete.
Features of this skatepark include two steep brick banks with a ledge in between, a tiered manual pad and ledge combo, and an A-Frame manual pad with a low rail. Little Scobie is not a skate spot to venture out of your way for, but if you are close by it’s worth a quick session.
LITTLE SCOBIE SKATE SPOT

Farm Pond Skatepark
Farm Pond is one awesome 10,000 square foot skatepark! It was designed and built by Pillar and Artisan Skateparks who worked with the local skate community to bring their vision to life. The skatepark is a mix of everything including various quarter pipes, vert extension, bank wall, launch ramps, humps, bumps, flat ledges, curved ledges, and a rail.
FARM POND SKATEPARK
Hours: 7am – 10pm

Hingham Skatepark
Hingham Skatepark offers skateboarders a double bowl and spine, curved quarter pipe, corner bank, down ledges, out ledge, flat ledges, manual pad, bank to ledge, stair set, and a handrail. This skatepark is suited to all types of skateboarders from beginner to advanced.
HINGHAM SKATEPARK

Newburyport Skatepark
Newburyport Skatepark was built with transition skaters in mind. There are three bowls that vary in size and shape offering all levels of skaters an opportunity to advance their skills. The street obstacles here include a few flat bars and ledges around the perimeter. If you like to skate street obstacles it’s best to give this one a miss.
NEWBURYPORT SKATEPARK

Oak Crest Cove Skatepark
Oak Crest Cove (also known as Sandwich) skatepark opened in 2020. The skatepark includes a flow bowl, six to nine foot ameba bowl, extensions, banks, hips, ledges, manual pads, pole jam, rails, and more. There is something for every type of skater at this brand spanking new skatepark!
