In the past, skateboarding in Nebraska was like many other places in the world, a sub-culture for misfits and punks who just loved to skate. As skateboarding is now becoming a more popular and respected sport, there has been a rise in people learning how to skate. It’s not unusual these days to see men and women of all ages pushing around on a skateboard at your local skatepark.

When a sport becomes in a sense ‘more legitimate’ and mainstream, city officials and government enterprises are more likely to fund projects for them and that is exactly what is happening in Nebraska. New skateparks have appeared in cities such as in Norfolk and Omaha and the hope is that this trend will continue throughout the rest of the state.

The skateparks listed in this article are the best in Nebraska right now so be sure to pay them a visit if you are in the area.
