Illinois has some of the best skateparks around. Especially if you like to skate street-style skateparks. The popularity of street skating has influenced the way skateparks are being built these days and Illinois has taken this new approach to skatepark design very seriously. If you are a transition skater there is no need for concern though as there are plenty of bowls on offer here as well.
For skateboarders who are new to the sport, you should be comforted by the fact that many of the skateparks on this list are beginner friendly and offer plenty of smaller obstacles for you to practice the craft. Once you have mastered the smaller obstacles you can take try out your skills on the more advanced sections with bigger ramps, rails, and ledges.
Keep in mind that winters in Illinois are extremely cold so try and get as much skateboarding in as possible during the warmer months before it gets too unmotivating to go outside.
