As the stay at home order still lingers in many states through out the United States it seems as though more people are either getting into or returning to skateboarding (at home of course). Instagram skateboarding challenges are plentiful from pro’s to Joe’s!
Like a lot of other industries, skateboarding has taken a huge hit in this pandemic from closed skate shops to skateparks filled with sand. Most skate shops are offering curb side pick up to try and stay afloat while keeping the homies rolling. Online purchasing is always and option but most people like to touch and feel their wood before making a purchase.

On the flip side I dove head first into a few forums and noticed a lot of folks (young, old, male, female, cats, etc) saying how they have either purchased their first skateboard and are learning or that they have started skating again after many years on the bench.
I’m guessing after being locked in their houses and getting burnt out on video games and Netflix *exception Netflix n chill* they have decided to do something more constructive with their time like good old skateboarding.

So if you think about it maybe this is the silver lining to this unfortunate event. Not only are people getting into or back into skateboarding but they are also getting some exercise and having fun at the same time. It’s a win win!
Will the skateboard industry come back stronger than ever when this virus crap blows over and will we add thousands more people to the skate fam? We can only hope. In the mean time, keep shredding not spreading!
