Wales, like most of the United Kingdom, receives a considerable amount of precipitation but fortunately there are two indoor facilities on this list that are pretty sick and will keep you skateboarding throughout the year!

When the sun does poke its head out of the clouds, there are a number of great outdoor skateparks on offer here too. In particular, there are some really awesome street plaza style skateparks. But transition skaters don’t fret, as there are also some nice bowls for you to tear it up.

Best Skateparks In Wales


Penarth Skatepark

Penarth Skatepark was designed and built by Maverick Industries and consists of some extremely cool obstacles. In the middle of this skatepark there is a pentagon quarter pipe feature which is surrounded by a taco-shaped quarter pipe, volcano, pyramid bump-to-A-frame ledge, vert quarter pipe with a pentagon window, pyramid, quarter pipe with a hip, flat ledge, manual pad with a rail and planter out ledge, bank ramp, and a slappy curb.

While the skatepark is on the smaller side, it does have some very unique features with a mix of street and transition that almost all skateboarders will enjoy.

Cardiff Bay Barrage Skate Plaza

Cardiff Bay Barrage Skate Plaza measures in at 12,000 square feet and is strictly made up of street elements. There are a variety of brick bank ramps, flat ledges, marble out ledge, hubba ledge, brick bank-to-bank gap, flat gap, ledge over a gap, camel hump, three stair, euro gap, pole jam, rails, quarter pipes, bank ramps, and a mini ramp.

If you are a street skater, there is no doubt you are going to love this skatepark in Cardiff. If you’re ever in the area, be sure to cruise by and check it out!

Spit And Sawdust Skatepark

Spit and Sawdust has a 7,000 square foot street course, flow bowl, and even a vert ramp! Not only is it a skateboarding facility, but it is also a café, bar, and art studio. Cool right?!

The street course has a variety of obstacles that include bank ramps, blocks, hips, ledges, manual pads, kickers, pole jams, flat bars, quarter pipes, and a mini ramp with a vert wall extension.

The flow bowl is brand spanking new as of August 2022 and features extensions and hips. The vert ramp is eleven-feet high, thirty-two feet wide, and gets ripped to shreds by the local vert skaters. Unless you have skated ramps like this before, you’ll probably steer clear of this monster!

Spit and Sawdust also offers skateboarding lessons, rental gear, trick tip sessions, and private skatepark rental too. Open skate sessions are on Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm to 10pm, and on weekends from 12pm to 5pm.

Open session entry fees are: 1 hour £5 / 2 hours £7 / 3 hours £8.50 / 4 hours £9.50 / Day £12.

Rampworld Cardiff Skatepark

Rampworld Cardiff Skatepark is made up of 27,000 square feet of Birchwood ramps! Whether you are a skateboarder, BMX rider, inline skater, or scooter kid, this indoor facility will surely have you drooling over it.

There is a flow bowl with vert extensions, hips, volcano, and transfer gap. And also a half bowl, a plethora of quarter pipes and bank ramps, mini ramp, mini ramp with a spine, and a foam pit.

The street course consists of flat bars, flat ledges, manual pads, A-frame with a rail and ledge, down ledges, bump-to-ledges, down rail, stairs, and a kicker ramp. An entry fee is required.

If you get the munchies, there is an onsite café that serves up a variety of food that includes sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, paninis, chips, fizzy drinks, and more.

Haverfordwest Skatepark

Best Skateparks In Wales

Haverfordwest Skatepark is another Maverick Industries designed facility. Opening in 2014, it has been an extremely popular skatepark with local skateboarders. There are two very nice flow bowls, ditch section, out ledges, manual pad, flat bar, curved bank, camel hump with a rainbow rail, A-frame with a rail, flat ledges, pole jam up to mini quarter pipe, down rail, bank-to-curved ledges, pyramid with quarter pipe extension, pump bumps, and banks with hips, it is pretty rad!

This skatepark is 100% skater owned and operated which means all maintenance, lighting, any other associated costs have to be paid through fundraising efforts. Hats off to the dedicated local skateboarders here.

Rhyl Skatepark

Rhyl Skatepark is the perfect facility for every level of skateboarder, from beginner to advanced. Maverick Industries obviously have an awesome design team because they have the ability to incorporate just the right amount of obstacles into smaller spaces without hindering the overall flow of the skatepark.

There is a mini ramp, brick bank with hips, drainage gap, and a ledge on top, flat bar, long flat ledge, bench ledges, A-frame with a ledge and rail, pyramid with a bench ledge on top, bank ramps, and quarter pipes.

Leek (Brough Park) Skatepark

Leek Skatepark was built by Maverick Industries in 2018 and consists of a mix of street and transition elements. The cool little peanut-shaped bowl has a shallow and deep end, and the street course has a variety of obstacles such as a hubba ledge, rails, kicker ramp, big quarter pipe, pyramids, flat ledges, A-frame ledge, up-gap, stairs, blue brick stamped bank ramp, pole jam, bump-to-rail, and a taco-shaped bank ramp. Aberystwyth Skatepark

Aberystwyth Skatepark opened in 2017 and was designed by Freestyle Places. It features an open ended bowl, quarter pipes, bank ramps, A-frame with a ledge and rail, and a granite paver skate path with multiple granite bench ledges. This is a small facility, but it has all the necessary elements to have an awesome shred session.

Llangefni Skatepark

Llangefni Skatepark is a street-style facility located near Anglesey. The skatepark was rebuilt in 2018 and features quarter pipes, vert quarter pipe, volcanoes, flat ledges, bank-to-bank gap, flat ledges, manual pad, pyramid, camel hump, down ledge, down rail, bump-to-ledge, bump-to-rail, euro gap, and bank ramps. This skatepark is also fitted with lights so you can skate at night.
