If you’re a skateboarder living in the Bend area, you are very lucky because the skateparks in Bend have been designed and built by some of the best skatepark builders in the country. Evergreen, Spohn Ranch, Dreamland, Grindline, these are some of the top companies when it comes to west coast skatepark design and construction.

Bend is Oregon’s number one adventure town; whether it’s epic hiking and mountain-biking trails, or adrenaline rushing white-water rafting trips, this destination has you covered. So is it any surprise that the government here also provides for the skateboarding community too?

You’ll find plenty of great skateparks in Bend and also in some of the smaller towns surrounding Bend like Redmond, Madras, and Prineville. All of the skateparks outside of Bend’s city limits are totally worth road tripping too and are only a thirty minute drive away.

If you’re not from this part of Central Oregon, but are planning a visit, be sure to bring your skateboard because you’re guaranteed to have a good time at the facilities listed below.

After your epic skate session, be sure to head down to the Deschutes River to cool off, or if you’re up for the challenge, try your hand surfing the famous Bend River Wave!

Best Skateparks Around Bend

Ponderosa Skatepark

Ponderosa is a 12,000 square foot skatepark located near downtown Bend. It was built by Spohn Ranch with input from the public and a local advocacy group called Providing Urban Skate Habitats.

The transition is made up of a variety of quarter pipes, extension, and banks. The street course is the main attraction here with flat ledges, out ledges, down ledges, rails, flat bars, banks, stairs manual pads, and a really cool skate path with taco shaped quarter pipes, vert wall, pump bumps, and more.

Rockridge Skatepark

Rockridge Skatepark in Bend, Oregon, is 11,000 square feet and was built by Evergreen Skateparks. Evergreen are known for their signature lunar landscape design and this skatepark is a prime example. It features a variety of hips, bumps, and unique transitions. This is not a street park but there are a couple of nice ledges and a rail. Please go and shred this beauty!

Northpointe Skatepark

Northpointe is Bend’s newest neighborhood skatepark. It’s not the biggest, but it is brand new, silky smooth, and features a volcano, flat bar, curved ledge and manual pad, quarter pipes and bank ramps. It’s what skateboarders dream they of having in their backyard!

Redmond Skatepark

Redmond Skatepark is 8,000 square feet and was built in 2001 by Dreamland Skateparks. There is plenty of transition that includes a flow bowl with an extension, pro bowl with pool coping, and a snake run that ends in a bowl.

The street elements consist of out ledges, flat ledges, rails, flat bars, bank ramps, hips, bumps, and quarter pipes. The mix of obstacles here makes this a great skateparks for all kinds of skateboarders. There is also plenty of room so I encourage beginners to come and shred as well.

Madras Skatepark

Madras Skatepark is 10,000 square feet and was built by Dreamland Skateparks in 2005. There is a big bowl, flow bowl, and smaller bowl, so transition skaters will love it here. The street elements consist of two down ledges, one flat ledge, a rail, and vert extension. This is definitely a must skate if you’re in the area.

Prineville Skatepark

Prineville Skatepark is 13,000 square feet and was built in 2019 by Grindline Skateparks. This is another great asset to Oregon’s long list of impressive skateparks, and particularly for central Oregon skateboarders. It offers a variety of transition such as a pool-style bowl, quarter pipes, hips, humps, pyramid, handrail, ledge, and more. This is the ultimate flow park that transition skaters will dig!
