There are several brand spanking new skateparks that have popped up across Brisbane recently as well as some major upgrades to older skate facilities. As Brisbane grows and more Australians choose to move north, we predict that this list might be getting longer real soon. Bracken Ridge Skatepark

Bracken Ridge Skatepark is 1,000 square meters (10,500 square feet) and was designed by Convic. It features numerous street skating elements such as granite ledges, A-frame with a ledge, manual pads, rails, grass flat gap, kicker ramps, wallie block, spine ramp, pump bumps, bank ramps, bank ramps with extensions, quarter pipes, and a vert wall.

This skatepark is great for all types of skateboarders including beginners. The center of the plaza incorporates some trees and fake grass which gives it an aesthetically pleasing look. Spectators can take advantage of seating under the terrace that provides plenty of shade.

Flagstone Skatepark

Flagstone Skatepark is just south of Brisbane in Jimboomba and opened in early 2018. Designed by Convic, it consists of various obstacles such as hubba ledges, flat ledges, down rail, flat rail, quarter pipes, and a giant vert wall. The concrete is fresh, smooth, and perfect for everyone from beginners to experienced skateboarders. Definitely check this spot out if you are nearby as it’s very cool.

Paddington Skatepark

Paddington Skatepark known as “Paddo” by the locals, has received two upgrades since being originally built. The first upgrade was in 2016, and the second and most recent upgrade was completed in 2017.

Skaters can enjoy a mix of street and transition elements here such as a five-foot-bowl, open-ended bowled corner, pump bumps, volcano, several quarter pipes – one with a keyhole, hips, hubba ledges, flat ledge, manual pads, and rails. The design of the skatepark allows users to flow around in a circular manner and generate speed easily.

This skatepark does have lights for night skating which is awesome when those hot summer days are to unbearable to be out! You can find Paddington skatepark next door to the Suncorp Stadium.

Capalaba Skatepark

Best Skateparks In Brisbane

Capalaba Skatepark has a little bit of everything. The large six-to-eight-foot flow bowl has a vert extension, hips, and extended corner. The rest of the skatepark is made up of loads of different street elements such as a long runway of flat ledges, out ledges, and manual pads, small stair sets, large stair sets, handrails, hubba ledge, and more.

It has the feeling of being an actual street spot and there are some nice open flat ground areas here. Night lights have been installed so that a skate session in the evenings are possible.

CAPALABA SKATEPARK

Underwood Skatepark

Underwood Skatepark was designed by Convic and has one of the coolest bowls in Brisbane. The five-to-six-foot double bowl is joined together by a large bank and a spine making it easy to flow from one bowl to the next.

The rest of the skatepark is made up of street obstacles that include hubba ledges, flat bar, euro gap, quarter pipes, quarter pipe with an extension, and bank ramps. The quarter pipes here are perfect for beginners to learn how to skate transition as they are relatively mellow and not to daunting.

UNDERWOOD SKATEPARK

Balmoral Skatepark

Balmoral is a cool little flow-style skatepark with a three-to-five-foot kidney shaped bowl, quarter pipes, kicker ramp-to-bank, rail, and various bank ramps. Although it’s not the biggest skatepark in Brisbane, it does have all the essential obstacles one needs for a fun skate session. If you are in the Balmoral or Morningside area it’s worth checking out for sure.

Inala Skatepark

Inala Skatepark was upgraded a few years ago and has been an extremely popular skatepark ever since. There is a large bowl with an over-vert cradle, quarter pipes, vert wall, stairs, numerous bank ramps, A-frame with a ledge and rail, euro gap, flat ledges, manual pads, down rail, flat bar, pole jam, and a quarter pipe to curved manual pad feature in one of the corners. This is a great skatepark for all levels of skateboarders.

INALA SKATEPARK

Wynnum Skatepark (Saundezy)

Wynnum Skatepark is the perfect example of less is more! Sometimes skatepark designers get a little to carried away with jamming to many obstacles in one space but this skatepark is not like that at all.

At one end there are two quarter pipes with a large bank in between, the middle section has a pyramid with an A-frame ledge, A-frame with a ledge and rail, manual pad and ledge, and a flat bar.

To finish things off, the other end has some nice quarter pipes. The design offers skateboarders good flow between elements and the option to create lots of different lines.

Logan Village Green Skatepark

Logan Village Green Skate

Logan Village Green Skatepark was designed and built by Convic. Opening in late 2022 it provided the greater Brisbane area skateboarders with another great skatepark. It features a flow bowl with different depths, hips, and an extended corner. The rest of this skatepark consists of quarter pipes, vert wall, hips, spine, bank ramps, roller, stair set, flat bar, two down rails that you can skate from the opposite direction as bump to rails, flat ledge, mini volcano, manual pad, and a rainbow rail pole jam. There is a bit of everything here to suit all types of riders.
