La Quinta’s X Park Skatepark has been many years in the making and is now finally open for the public to enjoy. One of the country’s best skatepark designers Spohn Ranch were selected for the project and the company’s vice president of skatepark development Vince Onel stated “It’s our largest municipal project ever”. That says a lot for a company that has built hundreds of public skateparks in the United States and internationally.
X Park Skatepark In La Quinta
Measuring in at 40,000 square feet, this beast of a skatepark offers skateboarders a plethora of ramps and obstacles to choose from. The large combination bowl was designed in collaboration with two-time world champion skateboarder and senior pastor Eddie Elguera.
It has already received the approval of Tony Hawk who tested it out before the skatepark officially opened. There is also a flow bowl with different depths, a spine, extensions, hips, bank section, and a volcano.
The street course is extremely impressive too with hubba ledges, handrails, stairs, flat bars, flat ledges, out ledge, bump-to-manual-pad, bump-over-wrecking-ball, A-frame rail, bank ramps, and quarter pipes. If you like to skate street obstacles then you will really enjoy what is on offer here and the way that it is laid out allows for very long lines.
Another feature to the X Park is the concrete pump track that seems to go on forever. See how long you can ride it before your legs start to burn! It’s the perfect feature to wear yourself out on.

The facility has been built with a variety of modern amenities such as a futuristic lighting system, restrooms, drinking water fountain, skate shop, and observation deck where you can sit and watch all the action go down.
This is truly a state-of-the-art skatepark for skateboarders, BMX, riders, and scooters. No matter if you are a beginner who is just starting out or an advanced rider, there is something here for everyone to enjoy.
