South Dakota is slowly but surely building new skateparks throughout the state. It has definitely been a long and drawn out process but thanks to determined individuals, the skateboarding community, and now the somewhat legitimacy of skateboarding as a sport it really seems like the state of South Dakota is finally coming around for its skateboarders.
Evergreen Skateparks out of Portland, Oregon, have so far built three skateparks in South Dakota. Evergreen are known for building really cool flow-style skateparks with a variety of transition and usually a few street obstacles are thrown in the mix as well. We are surely not opposed to them building and hopefully building many more of their signature skateboarding facilities here in South Dakota.

Best Skateparks In South Dakota
Watertown Skatepark
Watertown Skatepark is one of the coolest skateparks in the entire state of South Dakota. It as designed and built by Evergreen Skateparks who are a renowned company out of Portland, Oregon.
This skatepark consists of a skate path with a stair set, two hubba ledges, down rail, flat bar, curved ledge, manual pad, and a pump bump. The flow section has lots transition in the form of hips, bumps, and banks ramps. There is a little mix of everything here to suit all types of skateboarders.
If you find yourself in near Watertown, South Dakota, this skatepark is worth hitting up for a session.
WATERTOWN SKATEPARK

Lead Skatepark
Lead Skatepark is one of South Dakota’s newest skateboarding facilities. Evergreen Skateparks are again responsible for designing and building this awesome skatepark.
It features Evergreens signature “moonscape” design with dips, bumps, hips, and banks. There is a central pool-style bowl with a shallow and deep end, bowled transition, volcano, manual pad inset into a banked wall, flat bar, rail, flat ledge, and slappy curb.
It’s great to see the city of Lead step-up and replace their very old ramps with a brand new concrete skateboarding facility.

Crow Creek Skatepark
Crow Creek Skatepark was designed and built one again Evergreen Skateparks. There is some very cool and unique transition, hips, bank ramps, as well as ledges, flat bar, and an A-frame with a rail.
Evergreen always design their skateparks with ultimate flow in mind and Crow Creek Skateparks is no exception.
CROW CREEK SKATEPARK

Dry Run Creek Skatepark
Dry Run Creek Skatepark is and older skateboarding facility that recently had a new section added to it. This new section includes a flow bowl, quarter pipe, stair set, two rails, euro gap, down ledge, and bank ramps. The older section is made up of of two wooden quarter pipe ramps, a nice manual pad, ledge, and a rail.
This skatepark also offers a lot of flat ground area so it’s a great place for beginners to learn.
DRY RUN CREEK SKATEPARK

Address: S Kimball St, Mitchell, SD
G & P Indoor Skatepark
G & P Indoor Skatepark is ran by the non-profit Process Skateboard Ministry. There is nothing better than than year-round skateboarding specially in the winter months. This skatepark consists of half pipes, rails, ledges, manual pads, and just about every other essential obstacle you need to have a solid skate session.
There is a fee to use this skatepark. For a 1.5 hour session it is $7 and a 2.5 hour session is $12 except on Tuesday night’s free skate church session from 5pm-8pm.
G & P INDOOR SKATEPARK
Hours: Mon – Fri 3:30pm – 8pm (Sat 12pm -5pm)

Pine Ridge Skatepark
Pine Ridge Skatepark is was designed and built by Grindline Skateparks and the local community. It features a large flow bowl with pool coping, deep end, shallow ends, and hips. There are also some quarter pipe pockets, quarter pipe with a doorway, bank ramps, rails, and ledges.
This is a very cool project and we hope the skatepark grows even bigger over time.
