Shaw Millennium Park Skatepark was built back in 2000 and is still the largest skatepark ever built in Canada to this day. It measures in at a whopping 75,000 square feet and as you can imagine, that is a lot of concrete along with a lot of obstacles.

This huge skatepark has a bowl with a full-pipe, backyard-style pool bowl, flow bowl, mini ramp, quarter pipes, bank ramps, hubba ledges, flat ledges, out ledges, A-frame, stairs, handrails, flat bars, manual pads, pump bumps, and more! Of course with a twenty-two year old skatepark you can expect some wear and tear but either way, this is still an amazing and historical Calgary skatepark that you must visit at least once.

Southwood Skatepark

Southwood Skatepark is located at a quiet neighborhood park in southwest Calgary. It consists of a flow bowl with a radial pocket, hips, and various depths which transition skaters will rip to shreds.

Street skaters can focus on numerous obstacles such as flat ledges, flat bars, rails, down ledges, bank with inset ledge, pyramid with a ledge, bank ramps, stairs, manual pad, bank to jersey barrier, and a half bowl. This is a great all-round skatepark that will suit all types of skateboarders.

Deer Run Skatepark

Deer Run Skate Spot is a small street inspired facility located in the southeast quadrant of Calgary. There are quarter pipes with hips and an extension, two hubba ledges, handrail, down rail, stair set, bump to manual pad and ledge, and bank ramps. It’s not the biggest skatepark in the city but has the essential elements needed for a good skate session.

Bowness Skatepark

Bowness Skatepark was designed and built by one of the best in the business – New Line Skateparks. There is a four foot bowl with a radius corner, transition to bank gap, extension, tight radius corner, flat bank hip, bank to jersey barrier, and pump bumps. The street obstacles include an eight stair, hubba ledge, flat ledge, manual pad, flat bar, and slappy curb. Transition skaters will like this fun and flowy design.

Huntington Hills Skatepark

Huntington Hills Skatepark offers a large bowl with multiple extensions and hips, a spine, radial pocket, and pool-style pocket with pool coping. The street course is just as impressive with two big hubba ledges, handrail, stair set, A-frame with a ledge and rail, manual pads, bank with inset ledge, bank ramps, and quarter pipes.

Carrington Skate Spot

Carrington Skate Spot which was designed by New Line Skateparks, is a great spot to skate if you’re in the northwest Calgary area. There is a small quarter pipe with a drainage gap, camel hump with a bank to bank gap that goes straight into another quarter pipe, volcano, perfect flat ledges everywhere, manual pad, stairs, and a small hubba ledge. This is a really good skatepark for beginners because the obstacles are nice and mellow.

Best Skateparks In Calgary

New Brighton Skatepark has an insanely good bowl with numerous hips, pocket extension, vert extensions, pump bump, and a roll-in. The street section has two handrails, two stair sets, two out ledges, long flat bar, long flat ledge, curved ledges, bank ramp, and quarter pipes. Designed by New Line, this skatepark offers some awesome terrain.

Rocky Ridge Skatepark

Rocky Ridge Skatepark has a good mix of street and transition elements. The bowl has two separate ends with a mini ramp in the middle which is quite unique and something you don’t see at a lot of skateparks. If you like street skating there are numerous obstacles including stairs, rails, hubba ledge, flat ledges, bank with inset ledge, pyramid with a ledge, hips, and quarter pipes.

Genesis Centre Skatepark

Genesis Centre Skatepark is located in northeast Calgary and first opened in 2019. There are a few quarter pipes and bank ramps here but the design mainly represents a street course that consists of two big hubba ledges, many flat ledges, out ledge, bank with inset ledge, manual pad, bank to jersey barrier, stairs, handrail, flat bars, and bump bumps.
